Sensory play is crucial for childrenโ€™s development, as it engages their senses and supports brain, language, and motor skills. It also promotes exploration, creativity, and emotional regulation. Sensory play is a huge aspect in our curriculum across all rooms as it allows children to learn about the world and develop crucial skills for future learning and social interaction. Today in our babies room our youngest of learners explored paint in a sensory tray set up. There was lots of learning, laughter and happiness all around.Image attachmentImage attachment

Frankston House Early Learning is proud to announce we have partnered up with The Resilience Project, as part of our School Readiness Funding. In our 4 year old Kindergarten classroom they have been learning about different emotions, how to identify emotions, how to express emotions, and how to regulate emotions with assistance from our adults in our life. Today in our 4 year old room the children watched a short clip by Martin Heppell teaching the children about different emotions. Our 4 year old Kindergarten Teacher Declan than sang a song ‘show us how you feel’ where the children expressed their emotion through facial expression. They could also explain why they felt that way. The children could than draw their own emotions in their own Resilience Project folios. Through an extension of learning our educator Tyler began teaching the children some of the emotions in Key word sign. The children will continue developing how to identify and express emotions through play. We are so proud of our 4 year old Kindergarten children building on their social and emotional development with the support of their teachers and peers. This is such an important life skill! ... ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸฎDown on the farm๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿ‘

Our Nest children, (our littlest learners at Frankston House) have been on a trip to the farm without even leaving the centre!
Our educators worked with the children to create our own sheep and cow, adding the ‘wool’ to our sheep, enjoying the soft texture. Next came our cow which the children took turns milking (water was used as milk).
Later, we decided to create a dirt track for the tractors to drive around the farm on!
This was a fantastic experience which in engaged the children in multiple aspects of learning from cognitive skills, fine motor control, coordination and supporting a growing understanding of their world and where our produce comes from ๐Ÿšœ

๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿ Honey, we baked some joy! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฏ

Our 3 year old kinder class has been learning all about minibeasts!
This week, we dove a bit deeper into the world of Bees ๐Ÿ
How can we talk about Bees without discussing Honey? ๐Ÿฏ
And how can we discuss Honey and not do a cooking experience?!
Educator Emma had the bright idea to make Honey Joys as a special treat to accompany our afternoon tea.
The children were so excited to measure, pour and mix all the ingredients together.
The best part came at afternoon tea when we got to eat our delicious honey treats! so Yummy!
The recipe is added below
* note that we used organic brown sugar instead of white

๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ๐ŸƒBush Kinder๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒฟ

Each Monday, the Kinder children at Frankston House enjoy a weekly outing to Bush Kinder!
Getting the children out into the community is a fantastic opportunity to develop knowledge around safety skills and tools such as staying together as a group with our adults, road safety and looking out for potential changes in our environment and how to respond to them.
It’s also great for facilitating exposure to nature, the world around us and those ever so important kinesthetic skills that allow us to climb trees! ๐ŸŒฒ
